Abstract submission

You must submit an abstract for posters or oral presentations. Please note that time slots for oral presentations are limited and therefore oral presentations will be assigned on a competitive basis.

Abstract guidelines

Abstracts should briefly outline the aim of the study and methods applied, and present the main findings and principal conclusions. Abstracts should be submitted using the web page of the conference (to be launched in June 2016). Please remember to include the correct e-mail address for correspondence concerning the submission and whether your preference is for an oral or poster presentation. Presentations with more than one author should remember to indicate the name of the presenting author. Abstracts should not exceed 400 words (excluding title, authors names, and address). Please ensure that your abstract conforms to the following guidelines. Word file (REMARK: Please not with extension .docx). Title in 11 pt bold Times New Roman. Authors in capital11 pt Times New Roman letters not in bold, include full first given names. Institution name, address and E-mail address for corresponding author normal script in 11 pt. The text should be continuous in normal script 11 pt Times New Roman with 2 cm left margins and exact 12pt line spacing.

Acceptance of submitted papers

All abstracts sent in by 15th November 2016 will be reviewed by the conference scientific committee. Authors will receive notification, confirming whether their paper(s) have been accepted for a poster or oral presentation.

The T.H. Kunz award for best student oral presentation

With this award (a cash prize of 500 €), we would like to honour the influential contribution of Prof. Dr. Thomas H. Kunz (Boston University) to the field of bat research in general, and his particular support of past International Berlin Bat Meetings (IBBM) in particular. We hope for Tom’s fast and complete recovery and send our warmest regards to Boston.

The price will be awarded to the student participant with the best oral presentation during an IBBM. All student participants with oral presentations are eligible for this award.

            Besides that we also offer awards for the 2nd and 3rd best student oral presentation and for the best poster presentations. All registered students are eligible for this competition (please provide your student ID card when you register). Nominations will be made by the scientific committee of the conference.
